Requirements

 

-between 18 to 35 years old
-proficient in spoken English
-at least a high school graduate or equivalent
-no criminal record
-excellent health (You should have no dangerous, infectious diseases , e.g. HIV or hepatitis )

Volunteer training

 

   Before starting your work at school or kindergarten , you have the volunteer training to prepare you for being a teacher . You will get to know how to be a good volunteer and how to teach Chinese children English. You will be also introduced to the rules of everyday life in China. . After the training it will be easier for you to get used to the cultural differences. The duration of the volunteer intensive training depends on your skills and needs. Usually it takes 4-7 days, but it can be also extended individually, if wanted.    
   Never be afraid to ask questions. Chinese everyday habits will differ from those of your home country, such as drinking hot water, shared style of eating, eating out quite often and having lunch quite early. This course is meant to give you orientation and to prevent you from making the most common mistakes.

2.Hand in the required documents and take part in a Skype interview with one of our program consultants

-introduction letter to the school – in English
-criminal record (can be handed in later)
-an introduction video in English – if requested by the school

If you decide to stay at a Chinese host family, prepare the following files:
-5 to 10 pictures of yourself – preferably together with children
-an introduction letter to your future host family – also in English After a successful application we will need the following documents to prepare the visa application:
-a copy of your passport
-a copy of two free passport pages
-health certificate  

3.Choose school/kindergarten and take part in an interview
   After you have passed the first two steps of the application process, we will introduce to you schools/kindergartens which are interested in your application.
